The Jaguar Land Rover Bellevue Team, With The AKF USA, At Newcastle!
This past weekend, 10 representatives and 2 vehicles from Jaguar Land Rover Bellevue participated in a charity event organized by the Aga Khan Foundation’s local community. The event was held at The Golf Club at Newcastle and featured a live auction and dinner, of which the Jaguar Land Rover Bellevue team attended. It was a day well spent, with a great organization.
At Jaguar Land Rover Bellevue, our local community lays near to our heart -and because of this we often find kindred spirits with charitable organizations that better the less fortunate in our area, both close-by and afar. The same nature we seek to manifest in empowering our customers with a better standard of motor vehicle is reflected by such organizations’ efforts to provide communities with a better standard of life.
The Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A., an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network, is a private, non-denominational, non-profit international development organization committed to alleviating poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy, primarily in Africa and Asia.
Founded in 1967, The Foundation seeks sustainable solutions to long-term problems of poverty through an integrated, community-based, participatory approach that strengthens the capacity of local institutions and respects local culture.
The Aga Khan Foundation’s activities are guided by the conviction that self-help brings dignity and self-respect, which in turn helps realize human potential. AKF USA supports programs in the areas of health, education, rural development and civil society.
“In my travels with the UN, I have often come across projects funded by The Aga Khan Foundation. It is inspiring to see their work around the world and all the people they are helping who might have otherwise been forgotten.”
– Angelina Jolie, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and Actress
“Community organizations lie at the heart of the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) approach. Thier achievements have been remarkable and, unlike many other donor-funded interventions, sustained. This success has been widely replicated in Pakistan, and similar organizations elsewhere have emulated the AKRSP model.”
– The World Bank, Independent Evaluation of AKRSP
It was a real treat to be a part of this special day, in such company. For more information on the Aga Khan Foundation and AKDN, click HERE.
